Our week-long winter retreat in Kashmir felt like stepping into Narnia. Surrounded by snow, we embarked on an unforgettable journey through this magical land. We began in Srinagar, where a downtown legacy tour revealed the city’s rich history—from pashmina-making to ancient Urdu literature and stunning architecture. Next, we headed to Gulmarg for an exhilarating ski course amidst divine snowfall. In the village of Naranag, we stayed with a welcoming Kashmiri family and trekked through trails steeped in spiritual and architectural history. 

Each encounter brought us closer to the region’s stories and its people, who treated us like their own. As we savored delicious Kashmiri cuisine, breathtaking views, and heartwarming hospitality, the retreat culminated with a peaceful shikara ride on Dal Lake and a sweet ending with walnut brownies at Hazrat Bal.
