“Finding Your Roots”

Our 8-day retreat in Meghalaya was centered on the theme of discovering our roots—through culture, traditions, and deep conversations. This stunning region offered so much to uncover. We started in the quaint town of Guwahati, with a mesmerizing sunset marking the beginning of our road trip to Shillong. The vibrant markets and cozy cafes there gave us the perfect first-day experience. Next, we journeyed to a black pottery village, trying our hand at the ancient craft and enjoying an authentic Khasi meal.

Unpredictable rains led us to a hike into a serene valley, where we found a hidden house in the middle of nowhere. We marveled at India’s cleanest river, kayaked to a cliff-jumping spot, and let the day drift away with the water. The retreat ended with an impromptu music night at Pynter, where we learned about the rich local music culture. Every day brought us to a new hidden waterfall with the clearest turquoise water and living root bridges, deepening our connection with this magical land and each other.
